All sailings cancelled until further notice but thankfully no one appears to have been hurt.

How were passengers trapped in their cars if it happened at sea, or is it possible the trucks only overturned when the lashings tying them down were released immediately prior to disembarking ? :-/

Did we see history nearly repeat itself on this route, As in the case of the Princess Victoria, the Captain who considered he could master any sea headed out with dire results. The same today which came within a whisker of a shipwreck. The inquiry into the Epsilon damage found the day captain overrode the no 2 and put to sea and seeing the state of the weather, did not seek shelter along Cornish coast but decided to round Lands End and nearly lost her on the St Ives side beaches.

I was on the Epsilon that crossing, the captain should not have rounded Lands End till the worst of the storm had passed. The Stena departure had announced to their customers that they would shelter south of Lands End and would not arrive into Rosslare till Tuesday ( they departed Cherbourg Sunday around 4pm). By a strange coincidence I travelled to Cairnryan today with Stena but had relatively quiet crossing after a 3 hour delay to departure time. Huge number of trucks at Cairnryan waiting to board for the return journey to Belfast. The cancellations must have played havoc with " just in time " delivery schedules for supermarkets etc. Maybe I need to pay more attention to dem weather forecasts :D
