I should start to get worried. I'm changing the car and getting rid of a nice TDI that can get 60mpg (if I drive like a saint). I've a 2.0 turbo petrol hot hatch ordered. I'll get to know the staff in the local petrol station......

I got petrol for the lawnmower last night. 5.5 litres cost me €10......

Cancel your order if you can , petrol pump prices spinning like slot machines 🤬

Given the VAG production and delivery schedule, I'll be lucky to get it next year. Hybrid Octavia's are down for September 2023 delivery now.

Quick question.... we're booked to travel to France with Stena in May.
All paid, but with the increase in fuel costs I'm wondering if they can/will slap a surcharge on the fare? If not, glad we paid months ago as we expect fares to rise dramatically..... although the way things are looking, maybe staying at home would be a safer bet
altogether? It seems a bit 'wrong' to be planning a holiday when we watch the daily news .

Going myself in may, only paid deposit so far and the rest to be paid this month, no sign of a change in what I owe, they'd have bought their fuel months ago

Yip they are up too compared to previous years...£440 was the cheapest for us in July Belfast Cairnryan, but we have a free chunnel crossing from tesco vouchers. So with a few tanks of (expensive diesel) we will get to the sun!!....still a kings ransom cheaper than the cheapest IF/Stenna direct crossing at £1200.....calais also suits us better as we go to Alps first via luxembourg for the cheap diesel and no tolls, then to med via A75 (no tolls). So that should offset the diesel expenses somewhat...

Just saw today that crude was down to $100 a barrel from the highs of $128 earlier this month. With the rate the fuel went up can we expect it to drop a quickly or would I have more chance of riding a unicorn around the moon

Not way of that a barrel of oil would want to be around $200 for that to happen.
Its actually dropping again

I'm not sure it is always that straight forward. The price of a barrel of oil went -$38 (negative) during the pandemic. We still payed for it at the pump. It's a price Im willing to pay if it stops the flow of Russian oil. Rationing could happen. But I take your point.

A few months into the covid the Saudis backed off oil production keeping global supply’s still quite low therefore keeping prices up, that’s why we didn’t see a big change in price even thought the roads were empty a lot of the time , add to that high fuel duty by governments, the war thing is just a smokescreen to hide behind, that’s probably y boris is over there now, making sure they don’t flood the market with oil to keep the price up thus high tax take
