"Ah stop would ye" not a saying this far North but I hear it a lot from you guys further South.

I think I have the gist of it, but keep hearing it in different scenarios.

Someone care to explain its full definition? 😁

And don't forget the shemozzle in the small parallelogram. A basic necessity of any junior B game.

An actual conversation I overheard..... at a wake...
Ya need to throw out the anchors, ya oinseach, afore yer malavoged on the tar, and you’ll end up in a wooden suit like yionder sketch
Translation... slow down you clown, before you are hurt on the road, and end up in a coffin like him

He obvious;y knows then what he’s doing and you are fortunate to,have come on him?
Jack the Rev

fortunate to, have come on him? I have often heard that term used in the past by some of our older generation down our way. (Lucky to find him) Any one else come across it ?

Tons of slang we hear here in east Donegal that isn’t common at all, the reason is the proliferation of “Ulster Scots” in the area.
Some words are in everyday use yet people from not so far away have never witnessed it before..... think on the sitcom ‘Still Game’ , the one about two old Scottish codgers and you’ll sort of get the drift......
