Water connection for the services in France

Hi can anyone tell me what they use on the water hose connection for the racelet or similar in the air services while in France. We’ve tried quite a few but none are staying on and we keep getting spray back as the hose will not stay on without holding in place I’ve bought a connection in woodies before going that was supposed to be universal but it’s not working saw a screw on one in one of the shops but not sure if it’s the size I need
It’s 33.3 ml Any suggestions

Lots have the threaded type fitting, of different sizes. Most supermarkets keep them there. If you have an Asda close to you then they sell a 3 way plastic hoselock style fitting that has the sizes required. We also carry a proper hoselock clamp fitting (hoselock brand is better, softer rubber seal and good clamp) for use on unthreaded taps. Another fitting is the hoselock mixer tap clamp which works in some places, think we’ve used it twice.
Another handy thing is the quick release ratchet type strap cut down to about a foot in length....... it’s for holding down the button on the taps that only dispenses water if you continue holding it down... the short strap is ideal for that.
Will try and find pics.

Straps are called cam buckle cargo straps.

I've found the vast majority of taps have the same type of connector we use here. It's always best to carry 2 or 3 different ones. We trawled DIY stores on the continent and eventually got what we needed.

I’ve got that hose lock one but it keeps spraying out The French just rock up put on their fitting and chat away while pressing the button on the tap to fill while we on the other hand take a shower that we are not prepared for 😱

In jjf phone of the black threaded connectors, there are female fitting, as the black piece screws onto the outside of the tap flange. With theses fittings, there should be a rubber o ring at the bottom of the threads. Without the o ring, the water with spray all over the place.
If it is gone cut a small disc of cardboard with a hole in the centre as a substitute.
We got caught at one service point, but after a moment or two I figured that the coupling need was a male fitting, one which screwed into the flange of the tap. By sticking your little finger up into the flange, the threads can be felt inside.

below is a pic of my bag of bits.
The white/yellow connector is the usual one used here for outside taps, the yellow is the common size on our taps and also fits most of the taps in France and beyond.
The big grey 20/27mm size is rarely used but can be required on the very odd Aire.

The whole bunch will cover all eventualities

Unless I could not see it there is one missing it is a male male fitting, that is to say a sticky out bit on both ends. It’s rare but I’ve needed on marinas and in montignac France.

I did not open your picture just saw the preview pane, and lo when I clicked on the picture it extended and showed the male to male.
Thanks.

I've found that when ever I've tried to use the double male when its in my hose it won't go into the outlet far enough to clik in so as I mentioned above I use one of THESE screwed into my hose

How about One Of These with one of the Y sides blanked off.

I've multiples of some too, I only photo'd one of each.

Here's another tip.
If you only have one longish hose why not cut about 2.5m off and use a double male connector to join it to the longer section when needed.
I've found that the shorter 2.5m section is usually more than enough if you stop with the filler cap on the same side as the tap. It saves the hassle of wrestling with a long hose.

Don't forget the half waste connection to use as a funnel, when you have to fill with a bucket or 5ltr water bottle.
