I had to laugh when saw a negative review on trip advisor of a campsite, fortunately not mine.
The reviewer complained about being squeezed in like sardines in his tent and the queues to use the facilities and that he has never had to prebook this particular campsite before and was shocked to arrive and be told the campsite was full.
The campsite owner responded by saying that yes they were full but as camper had stayed before they decided to make an exception and let him and his partner stay in their 6 man tent but as they arrived at the same time as another 6 man tent he let both stay.
So he was a bit annoyed that his favour resulted in a negative review. He went on to say that for the bank holiday weekend most people had booked well in advance and that most campers would understand that for the August bank holiday prebooking would be the sensible thing to do.
So it’s ironic really the owner did the chap a favour and then the camper complained.
I have had several sob stories this year but I won’t compromise on my values.
Fortunately “silly season” ends soon and the clock ticks closer to 31 of October.
