Gas fire bottom venting

I have asked this on here before I think.

Is it possible to get a gas fire that vents through the floor, inlet and outlet? I seem to remember there was. Is this one?

CARAVAN/MOTORHOME CARVER 1800 GAS FIRE , UNDERFLOOR VENTED

Or does that just mean inlet?

I want to retro fit one but I don't want an upright flue.

Yes, carver do a version that exhausts through the floor and no vertical flue required.
Mate of mine may have one (caravan mechanic)..... I’ll ask the question for you and get my hands on it if any good.

Yes , our last Motorhome had one that came through the floor laying in bed you could feel the drafts coming in 1997 boxer try caravan breakers

Had one in a caravan years ago.

Only issue with it was that on a windy night it would blow out due to the wind blowing below the caravan. Eventually fitted a shroud about 200 mm diameter and 100 mm deep screwed to the underside of the floor. This solved the problem.

I have one of these in the RV...

At the minute I don't think it works, but cant test it until I get some gas into the system as it leaked before we got the electrics sorted. As it's an LPG tank, I need to drive it to fill it. I still may change it though, I remember from the last RV the fan was very powerful and sore on the batteries.

I am quite sick of blow heating and it's use on leisure batteries #bringbackthegasfire

I have somewhere I can fit a gas fire but can't vent out the top so this may be the answer.

In saying all of the above I have also been looking at these diesel heaters, but of course they use blow heating.

I just want to get back to the days when I could heat the van without worrying about batteries!

Afewyearsago I fitted an everspatccher heater to a friends boat it was a great job loads of ducting with it I was able to put a warm room in it for wet sailing gear to dry in ,but with the boat I didn’t have to drop the derv tank down to get the pump fitted

Finally got LPG in the RV and the furnace doesn't fire up, so the search begins for an alternative. Think diesel heater might be the way to go. I don't need it to heat water as that is seperate on the van and working perfectly on gas.

What about a Propex Heatsource or a Whale gas electric ( now built in NI I think ) 25 mm inlet and exhaust sealed from the van with 1mtr hoses from the burner, can be fitted anywhere on the floor or up to 400mm higher. and the hot air ducted to where ever you like

I have the propex heatsource in my van,reliable and warm enough,seems to be handy enough run. I think there is also one that can run from the 240v as well as gas.

Think I am going to go for a Propex gas Heater. What models do you guys have? Been looking at the 2800. I'm not sure the 2000 at 1.9KW would be powerful enough

The 2000 is what I have in the sprinter so you are probably right. you're MH being of greater area.

Propex 2800

Fitted and working.

Used it at the weekend and very impressed, quiet running and there seems to be plenty of heat. I'll report back when the weather is a lot colder.
