Microsoft Windows going to monthly subscription.

Anyone running an up to date desktop/Laptop with windows will be asked to pay a monthly subscription for the OS, see MS Windows, becoming monthly subscription , I’m still running Win 7 on my laptop and desktops and will continue as long as possible....... or bite the bullet and go full Linux, it’s free and more efficient.... or the ultimate sanction, full mac OS household !

I'm writing this on a laptop that couldnt be upgraded from xp and was essentially useless until I put lubuntu on it. There's not much you can't do in a web browser these days. Runs great! Highly recommended.

I recently bought a Chromebook, really impressed so far for simple tasks such as Google docs, browsing etc. It can also run some android apps as well. Very fast startup and great battery life.

Love them, I plan to upgrade mine soon. Not that it has slowed down but I want one of the new ones that now does all the Play Store.

Brilliant for a Motorhome, lightweight, long battery life, fast startup.
