Just tried it. You can now pick dates next summer whereas before only dates in 2018 were available. However when I try going out in May,returning in June it says “no sailings available”

Looks like it is not sorted yet

I managed to book for May. The first time I tried, the pop up calandar date picker did not highlight the valid sailing dates so I couldn’t find a booking. When I tried a second time the date picker was looking normal and so I could easily pick valid dates.

Ship ahoy 🙂

This year out may back June €367. Next year €481. the rip-off €114 = 31% increase.
while at the same time they show a discount of - €51 ( actual increase 36% )
There is no sailing in or out of Roscoff which will knock some hole in their business. and no sailing from Rosslare.

Sorry, I should have added with the banner they offer it for €464. = - €20 discount of .041% if you add €2 you could get 2 pints each way on the old boat.

Stena for the same time €668. boy have they learned from the masters.

Was having difficulty getting it to populate dates, tried refreshing with no luck, I changed route to France-Ireland and they showed and then back to Ireland - France and hey presto they were there. Anyone who booked Stena as a plan b will likely be following through on plan b.

Booking the exact same dates as I have with Stena on flexible fare, with the current IF 10% discount and after the €150 credit for last years fiasco is applied, it will still work out €150 more expensive to travel with Irish Ferries. I'm flexible on dates but there's not much better on offer.

At this stage, I'm rolling the dice and gambling that IF will have to discount higher as many have already booked alternative sailings. I may look at IF on the return trip which is the more expensive leg with Stena and see if I can work out better off by getting the €150 discount on just that.

Edit... just to add, I have a place booked for the dog on Stena, not 100% if shell travel yet, but if she does, that would be another €90, so €240 more expensive in total.

Well if they are not sailing out of Rosslare, they have lost my business. Can’t see myself driving over 2 hours to Dublin Port when Rosslare is 20 minutes away. Where is Oscar Wilde going to, if not on Rosslare to France route

Booked for next September. Travelling out of Dublin is perfect for us. Came in at €340 with 2 bed cabin with window and flexi fare both ways. Just need our motorhome back from the factory before then. Waiting for graphics from Italy. 🙄

The original question.
Have you abandoned the sailing schedule from Rosslare To Roscoff ?????????????????
A. long Standing Customer of this service for 25 Plus years

This is the answer
Good morning Martin,
Thank you for your email.
At this point in time, we are just releasing our Dublin-Cherbourg schedule for the new WB Yeats ship, which we know is our most in-demand route. Please watch our website for further updates on all our other 2019 schedules
Kind regards
Roxana Lazar
The New Question ( I don't expect an answer )
If you have not released anything about the Rosslare/Roscoff route haw can you claim the Dublin is your most in-demand route have you surveyed your customer base and ask which route is the preferred one?
Regards
Martin D.

Martin, I got an email stating that my account had been credited with €150 for the hassle this year. That and the 10% for booking early made the price €340.

Just booked the Epsilon,Dublin to Cherbourg return for February/March for our skiing. The price started at €590 by the time I got cabins and paid for the flexibility tickets. With the 10% discount, €150 discount for last years debacle and £210 worth of Tesco vouchers I only have to pay about €148/£132.

Couldn’t beat that with a big stick

Before Tesco changed their conditions we were getting 2 journeys to France each year for about £100 each time

Well the WB Yeats is sitting pretty in dock No 1 beside the East link bridge. She looks huge in the photos that I have seen. I reckon that there is a cottage industry of drive by viewings going on.
Best of luck to her and her passengers for future voyages.
With Irish Ferries current pricing plan, we shall not be frequenting her corridors.

The WB Yeats is listed as €140 million price tag. It was published that, IF put up €70 million of their money and the other €70 million was provided by the European investment bank /fund.
ICG is a very cash rich company so their €70 million investment will be recouped numerous times with clever accountancy practices.
With Brexit, the other €70 from the European investment bank will be probably writen off or put over an extented period of time, 20 year bond.
Irish Ferries embarked on a low cost fare model, years ago, replacing irish crews, flying flags of convenience, etc. We as customers have benefited from cheaper fares than some of its competitors.
However, I am furious by their blatant price increases on their only French route for July and August this year.
Dublin fares were always a bit dearer than Rosslare but not by 30%.
Over the last year and a half, their attitude to informing their paying customers has gone downhill.
Sadly, it is the small French town aires, that we love, it going to lose our business.
On the upside, 2019 is looking like a tour of the Emerald Isle instead.

and just think of all the weekends you can have in Ireland for the price of the ferry fares. and our summer weather beat France this year.
If we use the off-season fare of €460 to discount the wine we buy it's around 150 bottles and sure we shouldn't be drinking more then 3 a week anyway.

We've been doing that for 7 years and still loads to see. I know everyone loves France, but the cost is crazy if you can only do a week or two each year. Then if the sh*t hits the fan with a major break down it could be the stuff of nightmares.

Doesn't appeal to us, maybe in the future when we can go for longer periods.

And there’s nothing like Ireland when the weather is good, we had done smashing extended weekends in 2018 and looking forward to more next year.....
but it has to be said, we really do enjoy the continental trips away.... weather/food/sights/experiences are all special.

I don't disagree, I'm sure I'd love it. But the cost with a Motorhome for a week or two is not worth it. It's great for you folk that can stay longer, making it worthwhile.

Or if you live in the South of England and can nip across for less than a £100.

For the last 2 years, we got across for €400. For 17-18 nights, and with being twenty minutes from Rosslare it was cheap in my view. However with things looking like they do, I could be re-evaluating after this year. Am booked with Stena at the moment for €660, but I see another discount on offer. Must look into it, when the sun goes down. Roasting here at the moment
