Freshwater Pump / Help!

 ·

Evening all,
Noticed we had a leak in our camper over the weekend, and a pretty bad one too as it happens! Turns out the freshwater pump is leaking, looks like one of the seals has worn. I am going to pull the pump out tomorrow and rather than strip it out and try and replace the seal will put a new pump in, Can anyone point me in the right direction for one? Thanks in advance

Assuming its an o-ring seal, you could try an o-ring kit from radionics or farnell in which you'll get a broad selection of sizes or if you can measure the size of the old one, abbey seals carry just about any size you can imagine.

You could give Donagheys a ring, they're one of the sponsors on here and will post / currier any part you need. Also Maynooth motorhomes are not too far away from you.

Pull out the pump, wire directly to a 12 volt battery with a short garden hose on the intake side from a bucket of water. On the outlet side fit another short lenght of hose but double over one end with a cable tie. This will build pressure and you will see leakage at the pump.
However before all of this check the jubilee clips as the outlet side ones maybe loose.
When you are refitting everything, use new good quality jubilee clips as the old one will fail at a later date.

Lidl or Aldi were doing O ring sets recently in Dublin, can't be more than a tenner
