If you can't be towed, I would say the the lads would give you safe parking in the boat yard until you made your own arrangements or repairs. Sounds like the clutch fluid pipe has burst or the seals on the slave cylinders have poped. Either ways any local mechanic should be able to repair on site with parts.

how quick to repair on site will depend on the type of clutch cylinder fitted if thatswhats leaking, some are exterior some are internal with the clutch hope you get mobile quickly!

That was a lucky one with the AA, I always thought (and was told) they wouldn't cover a camper, made sure as hell I got roadside assistance from the insurance to be safe! Anyway hope it's an easy fix

You van was just trying to extend your weekend, you should have listen to her
Glad to hear that you got it sorted though, there are some repairs that unfortunately can't be done on the spot and you're better off going to a mechanic.
Cheers,
Rami

No, interior slave cylinder, gearbox out I’m afraid.
Check full clutch/flywheel Assy when out......
Any good mechanic will have that out and sorted in a day no problem.

Cheers folks looks like I’m going to have a lot of work ahead of me will definitely check the clutch but with only 27.000 miles I’d like to think it would be ok
thats a bummer hilton9, the problem you have is most of the work to replace the slave cylinder is also the same as the clutch so with the gearbox out i would strongly consider replacing the clutch i know you said about the low mileage but you would kick yourself if after a few weeks the clutch packed in!

As you say ,low mileage on the clutch and you and the mechanic will not doubt examine it and decide to refit or not,but I would put a new thrust bearing in ,for what they cost and the trouble to strip out if it failed in the future .

Also consider a new slave cylinder rather then a repair kit.

I am told to advise you, not to use a pressure bleeder

Pressure bleeders on a Bellow’s type slave cylinder release bearing can be a problem.
The reason is that during bleeding the bearing needs to be pressed firmly against the pressure plate fingers to expel all the air. Pressure type bleeders can force air into the bellows and expel fluid via the bleeder but the air is trapped in front. When you close the nipple and release the pedal the air is forced back up the pipe and you have little or no clutch force.
Bleeding those can be problematic, we’ve found the following to work best.... 2 persons required.
1. Fill the master cylinder, do not ‘pump the clutch up’ ...
2. Open nipple, press pedal firmly to the floor and hold, close nipple. Release pedal (you may have to pull pedal up by hand)
3. Repeat as in 2, and keep master cylinder topped up.
4. When clutch begins to firm up then pump it up hard and release nipple while holding it down.
They can be a real PITA to get all air expelled, but this method works best.
Hope it all works out for you and you’re on the road soon again.

Hi splinter can you give me a bit more information on that, and the reason for not using a pressure bleeder
Sorry, Rob I just logged in, but you got the answer from JJf. The old and trusted method, that's what apprenticeships were for, you needed someone to blame when it took so long to bleed a clutch or a complete brake system.
