Hi,
Can anyone personally recommend a stopping place for visiting Barcelona. Never had the van in Spain before and having
read on different sites about police moving people on and theft issues in Spain I must admit am having second thoughts
about it. Going probably end of July early August and was hoping to go as far as Valencia coming from Perpignon direction.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

There are loads of campsites along the coast and some are close to the railway where you could get the train into Barcelona and then not have to worry about where it is parked etc. The trains are as cheap as chips, we paid roughly ยข14 to travel 200Km from Barcelona one way. If travelling from Perpignan if you want the scenic route take the N340 or the motorway AP7, but remember that south of Barcelona you can get onto the A7 which is toll free and runs all the way to Calafat which is south of Cambils/Salou

Used to stop at Mataro ,10 mins Barcelona on train. used it many times, but beware of Barcelona and area for pickpockets and only take what money you need and hide the rest and your passport in the van or the camp safe. Don't play any street games like find the lady etc you will loose big time.

There is an aire in Barcelona, 2 Av. d'Eduard Maristany just past the Natural History Museum, not great but gets you right into Barcelona with a tram stop right outside the gates.
