Do any one know if this development went ahead or know of any overnight parking or campsite available in or near Ballybunion.

The App says Pierces Caravan Park, but I don't know anything about it.

Can’t say I am surprised, while I have some great memories of going on holiday there as a child when the place was buzzing now it seems to be going down hill ever since for whatever reason.

It could be this https://www.radiokerry.ie/perm…rth-kerry/
A handy spot if it goes ahead.

Do you need to apply for planning permission to allow 10 vans to park in your car Park? Evidently so. I’ll be surprised if it’s granted.

Yes, you're probably right with that.

I found Ballybunion to be not Motorhome friendly when we were there last year

No you don't.
This point was proved a few years ago when the planning enforcement officer from Galway City Council ordered that Galway Harbour Company stop allowing motorhomes to park in their parking area overnight. Following the order being challenged the planning officer backed down and the parking continued.
Where the planning officer did succeed was in getting the EHU's removed because they constituted a 'development' which should have had planning permission.

The basic rule is that if planning permission exists for a parking area what vehicles can park there and for how long is a management issue unless the grant of planning permission specifically excludes the use of the area for a particular category of vehicle and/or for a defined period in time.
