Step sensor

Hi all.
I have a 2003 Chausson Welcome 5 on a Fiat Ducato chassis. Having almost lost the manual side step when approaching the toll booth on our first trip, I have since noticed that there is a sensor on the step which I believe should illuminate a light somewhere to tell me the step is down. Does anyone know where this sensor is connected to? No obvious lights on the dash. Finding it difficult to trace the wiring.

Might be connected to a buzzer instead,

I have a Chausson Flash 05 and the sensor is connected to a very annoying buzzer behind the dash on the passenger side. From what i can see its just a 12v proximity sensor so chances are that either the buzzer is faulty or the cable is damaged. Probably easier to buy a cheap 12V buzzer and fit it.
