Aires or camper van parking in or near La Rochelle

Hi,

Staying in La Pinede in Palmyre and plan a couple of day trips into La Rochelle. Hoping someone can answer two questions for me?
- Is there any aires with easy accessibility into La Rochelle, or alternatively (and better), parking for a camper van in La Rochelle?
- Can anyone suggest nice things to do in La Rochelle (besides the aquarium which we have done already)?

There are 2 Aires in la Rochelle , I'm thinking of going in myself tomorrow on the way to Royan depending on the weather I think there might be thunderstorms

There is is the park and ride, Jean moulin which was manned but i believe not now (pay by card) and aire pont neuf on boulevard aristide rondeau, I have also stopped at camping du soleil which wasnt expensive with the acsi card and also have seen vavs wilding in the port area,If you go into the marina and carry on past the arch which takes you into the town centre there is a nice park on the right with walks which will take you back into town centre.

We were in Tours on Sat,the worst thunder storm I have ever encountered. Saw a guy have his bike blown out of his hands and then he was trowing into the side of my van, in Mouzillon tonight getting wine just had another thunder storm, great during the day.

David if you are going anywhere near Nantes, in an area called Mouzillon ,near the heart of Muscadet county. there is a fine independent vineyard,
Domaine de la Tucauderia. Muscadet, Sauce Blanc, Pinotnoir. It's in France Passion. He charges €5 a night with EHU and the use of toilets and showers ,no charge if you purchase .

In Ile de Re at the moment on campsite near lighthouse far end ACSI 1645 €19 thinking of going on Thurs back to ACSI 1587 in middle of island been there before. Campercontact seems to have few in island but €12.50 . €8 on the bridge, not sure if free coming off.

We are on a very nice campsite in Loix called camping Les Ilates, weather is good now but outlook not so good. Weather forecasts change by the minute here, we were in Saint Martin de Ré earlier and had a great time.

Drove down from roscoff Thursday. Weather was poor, some heavy rain at times so drove straight to Île de Ré. Here for last couple of days. On a great site now. La Graintière. Weather is expected to take a turn for the worst tomorrow at some stage, so onwards and south eastwards for us. Heading for Barcelona via Carcassone. Hoping to hit Barcelona Monday lunch time approximately

Down in Spain this past month. Weird year as weather has been very poor in France. Even Spain has had bad days and storms.
Angulons had a good aire beside la rochelle (lovely cycle in) though it's been made smaller from last year. Can't park at sea front now. La rochelle a lot say around docks with no issues. Also is rochelle has a good aire.
