Parcel Motel V Address pal

After 2 screw ups by Parcel Motel for deliveries in late December I've given Address Pal (An Post) a go.

Ordered some stuff off ebay.co.uk on 21st / 22nd January and still no sign. Parcel motel would have been here by now.

Anyone have any experience of Address Pal?

I signed up for Address Pal just over a year ago, but like your experience I found it to be much slower than Parcel Motel so I now only use the latter. Over size items are also much cheaper with Parcel Motel.

I use address pal for sites that won't ship to Ireland and ones with free UK delivery. Always seem to arrive in about a week.

I've used Parcel Motel 4 times now.

1st time, perfect.
2nd Time, they notified me they had received my parcel, but then seemed to lose it for a few days, and then find it again when I chased up why it hadnt been delivered yet. They then charged me twice for the same parcel. After a bit of to-and-fro, I got that delivery for free.
3rd time perfect.
4th time perfect.

I know some work colleagues use Address Pal without any issues.

I've used PM a good few time and there has never been any issue. My office is practically beside a motel point so it is very convenient. I've signed up for AP for those situations the one need a UK mainland address but not used it yet.

I've gone back to Parcel Motel.

Some of my stuff ordered 9 days ago is only turning up now in the post office.

For those of you who don't know what Parcel Motel or Address Pal are they are an accommodation address in Antrim (PM) and England somewhere (AP) for the benefit of those of us in the South to avail of free shipping to the UK from the likes of ebay and amazon and they we pay an extra €4 to have it delivered near where we live.

I've used parcel motel several times with no problems. I've used address pal for a site that would only deliver on mainland UK. The one time I did use addresspal I paid the extra to get it delivered to my door, thinking if I wasn't home that the postman would drop it with the neighbours. It didn't come with the regular postman, they seem to have a van for delivering parcels and must be signed for, so I got the missed delivery and ended up going to the depot anyway.
Our postman is on a bike so maybe that's why there's a parcel van, rural areas might be different(better).
