Heading to Calais

I found through another forum a parking area in Dover which is both quiet friendly and free for anyone who is heading to/from the boat. It's Marine Parade, the parking area has a number of spaces and last night there were around 20 motorhomes parked up. It's free over night but you pay between 9am and 6pm which isn't a problem for those getting on/off during the night.

We have used Marine Parade a few times in the past, but now if using the short channel route we prefer to get a late evening crossing and spend the night (or what's left of it) at Gravilines on the French side.

We did that in Calais on the way over as we landed around 10pm, and used marine parade on the way back as we landed around midnight
