Enniskillen

So, to celebrate 25 years of marriage Wendy has decided to take me to Enniskillen! Don't ask.

Was looking at reviews for Riverside, it seems to be about 2 miles out of town, and Lochside, but not sure where it is. Based on reviews, Riverside has it at the moment. Is there anywhere else.

It will be 2 nights, mid week and, ideally we would prefer a site with some space, nice views and within walking distance of the town and a nice restaurant. I wonder does Francos still exist?

Any advice welcome.

Mark

Hello Mark

Sorry for the late reply, we have just got registered on this website. Thank you for your enquiry, Lochside Marina is within 10 minutes walk from the centre of Enniskillen. If available we can supply you with a wee boat to explore the lough. We have redeveloped the site this year and we can give you a lovely view over looking the lough in among mature trees. It is a quiet and peaceful location perfect for those wishing to unwind and relax.

Franco's is still trading and the marina is within the town amenities, you can get a taxi for £2.50.

I hope this answers all your questions, if you have any more queries please contact myself Jim on 07843967531. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards

Hi loughside Marina.
Welcome to the craic.

Can you confirm your prices for Motorhome parking as it has been reported here that it is £20 per night.

Hi Jim, sorry we missed you on Tuesday night. Walked to Franco's following the advice of the young man who collected our fees. Great meal and called into Blakes on the way back for a Guinness or two. You're certainly doing great work in the marina and I look forward to seeing it when finished. Good luck and I hope to see you some time in the future.

Mark, yes £20 per night.

Thanks Mark. So it is more of a campsite than a Motorhome park.

Thanks for the photos Mark.
Looks like you having a good trip.

The parking area looks more like an Aire than a campsite. I believe that more motorhomes would stop there if the price was around £10. I understand someone has spent money on the facilities but it may have been unnecessary.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Once again another town has joined Portrush banning motorhomes from overnight parking. Portrush revamped Ramore Head Car Park with the help of certain councillors to stop us parking so we moved onto other towns that would want our business. They are going to employ red coats to patrol the car parks to ban Motorhomes from parking. We pay our taxes just like everyone else. A site done work during the winter to accommodate Motorhomes charging £20 a night to park. I can see caravan people paying that but Motorhomes are self sufficient. Half these sites are either 15 minutes walk from the centre of Enniskillen or 8 miles outta town. We have spoken to business owners when we have visited Enniskillen and they have welcomed our business. The site owners don't contribute to their businesses. A caravan site owner was down this weekend taking photos of Motorhomes parked up in the car parks this weekend to help his cause. We need to stand together and fight these changes or we will be left with no were to go to enjoy our expensive hobby. I am forwarding an enail to the First Minister rewarding thus issue. Meadhbh Monahan Senior Journalist at the Impartial Newspaper Enniskillen done the article.

I would rather give to the businesses rather than the greedy site owners.

We stayed in Ruverside-farm in Enniskillen last week (High season) Friends had been the previous week and recommended it. This is their second year. Further out than Lochside. There were about 5 MHs on the level concreted strip ( we still used levellers), (no grass) , with EHU. There was a wider hard surface (not concreted) parking area but they can run electricity to that section. Narrow stretch of river with boats tied up. They said if we wanted to go into Enniskillen they could order a water taxi for us. Overnight camping: Cost £12.50 or £15 with EHU. (£1 for showers). Toilets, showers and sink for dish washing and washing machine, and books on the windowsill for swopping.
