Toilet Cassette problem

A small hole has appeared in my cassette, it's just beside where you can manually open the flap. It looks like it is supposed to be there but now the contents come out of it when I carry it, whereas it did not before. What should be in the hole? :-/

ally i think there is a small spring loaded clip there i dont know what it does though , i have seen 1 broken before the part can be got at les tec or other thetford supplier though finger would work till you get the cash for part O-)
