Are those satellite systems any good ?

I want to get something for the van but haven't a rashers where to start. I'm thinking it might be hassle sticking a dish up every time. Has anyone used one of these ?

i have used the old box quite successfully from donegal to south west brittany it is too small after that the new box is hd so i would recomend it i used it on the ground or a table but i think you can stick this 1 on the van too , when using look around campsite for irl or gb vans that have a dish and put yours at the same angle

That is a 35cm dish which is quite small. Will work ok withing the centre of the footprint but may struggle on the edges

Hi,

We got one from lidl and it has been a hit or miss (more miss than hit). We did meet someone who told us to get a compass and then it started to get complicated, we thought it would be just as easy as aiming in the same direction as those with the fancier models.... i certainly wouldnt waste my money if its the same as the one we got.

a compass is a must..
There are a few satellites which are very close to Astra 2

A sat finder makes it much better as it fine tunes the signal once you find the correct one

I'm new to this satellite malarkey and I was only able to get some Russian shopping channels by doing the point and see method, when I actually used the compass app on my phone it worked a treat.

Anyone want to buy a " how to learn Russian in ten easy steps" DVD :D :D :D
