A small amount of resurfacing work is being done at Ferrycarrig on the N11 just outside Wexford. There doesn't appear to be a lot of work and I'd say disruption will minimal but it could affect anyone heading to the ferry in Rosslare. The Loc8 code for the roadworks is ZTX-85-VD9 just enter it in the search box here: http://www.myloc8ion.com/maps/find_code8
Ally, would it be worth while to have a permanent road watch / works section where anyone could input info on road works, closures and other info? :-)

Good suggestion not sure there is a need or if it will be used enough, but I'll give it a go, give me a day or so to set it up, busy with the new APP at the minute.

Roadworks still ongoing at Ferrycarrig opposite the Heritage Park
I would say with the volume of traffic that the delays could extend to about an hour

A stop and go system for traffic will be in place on the N11 between Ferns and Scarawalsh roundabout just outside Enniscorthy from today until Thursday, times are between 10 am to 4 pm. If you're heading for Rosslare from up country allow extra time or pick a different route.

Travelled the N11 yesterday from Rosslare to Dublin (and on to M1 to the north) leaving Rosslare at around noon. Absolutely no issues, even Enniscorthy took only two or three minutes from one end the other.

Not long now. The new section could be open by about 19th July according to the geeks (me included) on the boards.ie threads on it.

Paddy power is looking into making a book on how far back up the motorway the queue will be on Fridays with the single lane and traffic calming in Oilgate.

Not to mention when the kids start playing with the pedestrian lights.

are both sides opening at the same time ( towards Newross )? where are they going to put the tolls?

I've been bypassing the whole lot for the last year or more, going Ferns /the Still/Admsstown /Newbawn/ Gusserane /Hook.
I'm hoping the new bit will bring me to the R733 at Stokestown before the new bridge.

New Ross bypass not opening yet. You will land in at the new roundabout on the Wexford side of new Ross. Still should be a good improvement for you.

Looking forward to it opening. Was down that way at the weekend and the N11 bit looked ready to go. When the New Ross section opens I'll probably use it as my preferred route to Cork / Kerry. Beats nodding off on the boreing M6.

It is not due officially to open until next Thursday 18th, according to various sources. Varadkar is due to do the honours.

I wondered if they would do the same as the Arklow bit ,they did the official opening one Thursday ,we went trough on Friday great, Monday on the way home it was closed again with a big podiums set up at the Beehive so every Poli-tick and Gobshite in the county could do a photo shoot and claim responsible for getting it done.
No one reminded, Minister for Transport Paschal Donohoe, Minister for Public Expenditure Brendan Howlin and Minister of State Simon Harris. At the grand opening. that it started in 1970 . A meer 45 years and certainly before one of them was born. and the other was 1year old.

It has only took 45 years for them to nearly complete the motorway from Portlaoise to Dublin,
When they started it, years ago the price of the job, went up by the factor of the square number of 45.

Politicians are very good at being available if there is some glory or credit being handed out,but being unavailable if there are a few tricky questions requiring answers.
