Good news. I hope they get better advice than other councils did.

Be great to see something being done.
Just spent the weekend touring and never left Donegal.
It has to be said that the beauty and sights on our northern coasts are outstanding and if the government bodies got together and helped we would have something worth promoting.
Did a trip from home/Downings/Portsalon/Rathmullen/Home and was really good.

within walking distance of the maiden city's walls there are a LOT of shelters for down and outs/drunks, etc. I had spent a few days working down at the old bridge and was genuinely shocked at some of what I saw. I wouldn't want t be parked up down there.

Yes, agreed.
It's a pity, always thought the old, now unused, Foyle railway museum would have made a great aire/stop and convenient to city centre.
But you're correct, that area of town seems to draw all the drinkers and possibly worse there.
Derry is a lovely town and is missing out not having a proper MH stop.

I agree stroke city is a greet place the enemy and I spend a weekend in it but in a hotel ,if there was a safe place to park I would have no probs going and spending a few pounds ,plus it would be a good stopover for going into Donegal

Heard on the Local Radio na Gaeltachta Today that the Council were looking at developing sites in Donegal to Include EHU and Water.
One Place mentioned was the car park at Magheroarty Pier, local to me here, which is a beautiful spot and is also the place to get the Ferry to Tory Island (Foot Passengers Only)

Derry to Donegall, try and avoid Pennyburn roundabout to Racecourse Road, delays due to Road works at Traffic lights for the next 2 weeks , after which resurfacing will begin.

We've overnighted there quite a few times, mentioned it to the lads in the booking office.
Astoundingly beautiful area, hopefully they get an aire there.
I've actually added it to the POI's on the craic map.... Wonderful area.

Why do they think EHU is required?
Where are these councils getting their information?

They could save money or use the same budget to provide additional locations.

That's the problem with public sector jobs bodies.
They don't know how to do the job but their clip board says you're doing it wrong !
