Sky + box

Good evening folks. I need some advice please.
I don't have a satellite system but I am wondering if it is possible to bring my Sky+ box to France as I have a load of stuff recorded on it? I mean, use it as a "dvd recorder" to pass away time if it's really wet!!

I use a sky+ box in my motorhome it does not come on until it has a satellite signal

aldi are doing dishes this week at e79 or maplins are doing a bigger dish at e55 plus e25 for lnb after that your sky box will work in france and you can get radio stations too just like at home
