Lunarish landscape in May?

Hello my lovelies, we once drove through a fab place out west where the landscape took on an almost lunar appearance. I can't for the life of me remember where, but I think someone here knows, and I'll know within the hour.

bellmullet, through the area where the peat power station is and the whole region has been scoured of anything?

Well Ken, the hour indeed is up. My optimism hasnt wained though, nor has my passion for the craic. The info didn't arrive as promptly as I thought, which means the oracles have got into their oracles.
