Fridge not lighting on gas....

 ·
Posted: 20.03.2012  ·  #1
Hi All,

Was away for the weekend there and the camper played a blinder. No issues and everything worked......that is until the second night. I tried to light the fridge which worked fine the night before but couldn't get it lit.

I changed the gas with a full bottle that morning and all other gas appliances are working. The ignition switch is sparking.

I'm assuming there's a lack of gas getting to the fridge ? Was changing the bottle coincedental ? The botlles are 2 different colours but both propane with the same connection.

Any ideas what I could check for next ?

Thanks.

Probably not it but.... I couldn't get mine to light until I switched everything else off first.

What about the old trick of taking it out and turning it upside for a few hours? Or is that only if it isn't working at all?

Tried it with everything off, no joy. The battery is definately fine, only fitted a new one last week. I could try that Bronagh and it may work but it's a last resort as I don't fancy pulling a;ll that apart. Maybe I could turn the bus upside down somehow :o

Wexford was savage eirebus. Cheers for asking.

We stayed ouside a mates house in Kilmuckridge on the first night then parked up beside my BIL's mobile home at MorrisCastle beach the second night. I love that part of the world. The BIL doesn't know it yet but he'll be seeing a lot of us this Summer :D

Julian,

I know it sounds ridiculous, but when we change the gas bottle we have to light all the rings on the cooker first, then the fire and then the fridge.... if we try the fridge first it wont work. We just put it down to a quirk in our camper, but hey try it :D
