Water Pump - Any Suggestions

Hi

When we are camping and running on battery/gas, our water pump does not switch itself off. When we are plugged in to electric it works perfect. Would it be as simple as needing a new battery, our current battery is about 2 years old.

while off mains run a voltmeter across the battery it should read about 12.6v when charged or bring it to local garage to test 2 yrs sounds a little short life but there are alot of variables with batterys it does sound like a battery problem though as 12v is there on mains use

Adjust the water pressure micro switch slightly as the pump is achieving a slightly higher pressure on the mains power, set it perfectly for battery and it will work correctly on hook up as well.

I don't know whether this is relevant or not, but I overheard this same situation being discussed the day before yesterday at a garage...the mechanic said it was probably the microswitch on the tap....if that makes any sense?

(Is that the same switch mentioned in the previous post?)
