Hello All

Looking fora bit of advice re trip to Croatia. We are thinking of going in August and coming back In October. We have been following The Hunters Italian trip with interest. We thought of going either direct to France on the Rosslare/ Cherbourg Celtic Link crossing or else to do landbridge to England and then on to Holland /Belgium. We would take how ever long it took. Time is not the problem as long as we did not come home through raging storms :o
Has anyone been on this trip? We would love to hear ideas/advice

Thanks
Altnanean

I went cherboug, across france, germany, austria, slovenia, croatia, bosnia, and back through italy,in2010.I found slovenia nicer then croatia( and cheaper)i think it took about 5 days to get to bosnia.
We had no problems anywhere, and also did it in august.

Update on Croatia Trip

 ·
Posted: 16.03.2014  ·  #6
Hello
We looked at all options and we now have booked on CelticLink for the 19th August for £237 return with cabin each way. We looked at all options and this, at this price was the best option. We are following the Hunters posting with interest. We intend to go via Italy or return that way. We just might stay there !! It is so interesting and exciting. Just love our motorhome life!

Celtic Link were great

We have been looking at the map tonight to decide where we definitely want to go!
My brother is flying out to us for 10 days at start of August & we want to be in north italy during this time.
At the moment our main plan is to get off the boat & get to italy asap! We then intend to have a few long stops of 5-7 at a few locations, we just have to decide where we want to go! Ella has picked Venice as a must stop on her list.
Both of us have been flat out at work for weeks, being off for st Patrick's day tomorrow we intend to make a few plans for the big adventure this summer!

We were in Venice on honeymoon & she loves the photos! As well as that a recent episode of Garfield (the ginger cat!) is based in Venice & she loves the idea of all the canals! She wants to buy herself a Venetian mask!

Tell her she has fabulous taste I love Venice! She might want to start saving her pocket money for the mask as some are very expensive! You can get blank ones which you can decorate yourself which can fill several hours of entertainment for little people, worth thinking about for long journeys! X

Bicycly Insurance For Electric Bikes

 ·
Posted: 24.03.2014  ·  #15
We have two Wisper electric bikes that we have for two years. These bikes are super!. We have them insured under our house insurance with AXA, This covers theft and damage when we are home or abroad say .... :D . Only thing is that if something happened the bikes then we would lose our no claims bonus on the house insurance. "One Direct" does bike insurance for €380 a very good cover but the insurance cost, taken as a whole are building up. Has anyone any experience with this? All advice appreciated

€380 sounds very expensive, dearer than the Motorhome. I know you don't need Insurance to Ride a bike on the Road but if you knock some one down or scratch an expensive car you could be in the soup.

We are looking for insurance against theft etc. We asked another company cyclesure.ie they quoted €165per bike for theft. That puts them dearer than OneDirect.Their cover is for theft, public liability and personal accident ..I think ah well we will keep looking.

Is the bike insurance just for your trip to Croatia or would this be better as a new thread?

I don't think I would bother insuring them at that price. Take the risk.
