Victor, my 1970 early bay camper. After having several modern motorhomes i decided that I really wanted an old VW. I had been working on campsites seasonally, and wintered in the sun, wild camping in Spain, Portugal and Morocco. But a new campsite job 2 years ago offered all year work and a lovely flat to live in. So the Hymer that was parked up doing nothing had to go, and along came a lilac bay called Shirley, but soon had a sex change and change of colour and Victor was born. He has his moments, like the carb packing up last week, a week before we come to Ireland, but a quick call to a local VW business found a used carb for £50 and he's running again.
Yes, he does not have all the luxuries that my other vans have, but he puts a big grin on my face, and other peoples, it really is fun camping, cold fun camping sometimes.
I hope he does himself proud next week.

This is the best feeling of all. If it can give you a smile on your lips and others too, then it's all great!

Certainly brings back many memories and they don't make them like that anymore. Enjoy as I know you will especially the noise from the engine.

Yeah FC but that was part of the package. Like the Land Rover Defenders came with the assurance of wet feet when it rained but thats what made them magic.
