We used the ASCI book and card. some of the sites accept it earlier than others. Some as early as the 19th of August. Really worth it. Many of the sites will take the card instead of your passport which I think is more secure. We did not pay anymore that €16 per night. I see that it is higher this year. some of the camps have no swimming pool. Maybe the onsite café would be closed but it suited us fine. We met some lovely folk, oldies like ourselves. The craic was there if you wanted it but some were quiet!
