Garmin dezl 560LT

I was looking at that one before Johneen bought me the 1490

I am trying to decide between a Garmin Dezl and the Tomtom go live. Can anybody give advise

I have also come across a Snooper 7000 GPS just to add to the confusion. Should this unit be considered or would Garmin be still a better choice.

I am guessing that Leo is wanting one with the ability to add vehicle dimensions.
I did read somewhere that the map updates for snooper were not done as often at the Garmin and Tom Tom. I think the latest maps make a difference in unknow areas. This may have changed but might be worth looking into before paying.

had a look at the amazon reviews and I'm as confused,

i have a 2009 garmin thats slow as a snail and updating the maps will cost slightly less than a new unit with lifetime updates included,

Mad Max - in answer to your question yes. I bought one a few months back.

I haven't used it much yet - I don't have much need for it in day to day driving around Donegal Having said that I think it is a good product - big screen, nice positive touchscreen. It is compact and light to carry around and seems to be fairly robust and well made. Everything works.

It has lifetime free map updates. (NOTE) In the small print "lifetime free map updates" means for the life of that product.

It is at the basic end of the Garmin range. Which is what I wanted. I just wanted a basic satnav. My previous product was a top of the range Tomtom which I bought about six or seven years ago. Guess what? I never used the ancillary features such as hands free bluetooth phone device, playing MP3s, storing photographs etc. I only ever used it as a satnav. Hence the reason I went for basic this time.

Only little concern so far was it fell of the windscreen once - the suction cup does seem a bit small - but I think if I clean my windscreen that should not be a problem.

I'm kinda like you not using the sat nav much on every day driving so a basic enough one might fit the bill,

I think this one might do the trick for me
