Wee bit more on this... mine is an E5332 and it can take an aerial with a TS9 connection, this will receive even better 3G/4G in a difficult area. Got one on ebay for £11.

Three's recent announcment that you can now use your data in other countries, no more roaming charges, seems to work with the MiFi!!

Seeing reports people are using it in Italy Spain UK & Ireland with no extra charges.

Mobile Broadband abroad.
Our Mobile Broadband works in over 138 countries so you can stay connected when you're abroad.

If you have a contract with us your device will already be set up to be used abroad. But if you joined Three before 22 July 2010 or you have a tablet, you'll need to call us on 500 free from a Three phone or 0843 373 0500 from any other phone (5p per minute from a BT landline, other networks may vary) so we can activate international roaming.

If you're on Pay As You Go your device will already be set up to use abroad, but you'll need to top-up your account before you go away.

If you use your device abroad the data won't come out of your monthly allowance, instead you'll be charged standard roaming rates, unless you’re in a Feel At Home country. Find out more about Feel At Home.

Worldwide and EU data roaming limits.
We don't think you should spend more than you want to when using the internet on your device when you're abroad. So to help manage your costs, we've set a worldwide data roaming limit of £40 per month. You can find more information, including details of how to change this limit here.

Farther north this evening, Fort Agustus. Still good signal.
Weather is great warmer here than earlier.
Stopped in a campsite tonight to get water and shower etc.

Here is an important tip.
Make sure you have a USB to cigarette lighter charger if you are away for a few days or more, the battery doesn't last long.
Still good signal here in Nairn.

Think of it as a mobile Router, just like the router/hub you would have in your house when you get broadband at home.

The difference being, instead of it connecting to your phone line it connects to 3G/4G using the sim card that is inserted.

You can then, just like your Router at home, connect devices such as computers and tablets to it using a WiFi connection that it provides.

Not that different to what your 3G sim is doing in your Ipad other than the fact it shares the connection with other devices.

I have as of today joined the mifi brigade  there is a bit of a Faf around it but I will explain. I bought an E5776 (4g) on EE on a 30day rolling contract for £29.99, went home and cancelled the EE contract, got an unlock code off ebay for 99p inserted a 3 sim and topped it up for a tenner. I now have the latest dongle which is still not available on 3 but is 4g ready as and when we get it all for less than 3 could supply me the basic one they have!

Told you it was a bit of a faf

I should now be able to get wifi where ever I go without running my phone flat

Used up my data.

I paid £11 for 3GB for 3 months. They all seem to be just over £20 now !

£20.49 for 3 months, the cheapest way is £70.49 for 12gb for 12 months, I want to see if I will use it or not before I hand it over. The worst bit I gave found is that you have to buy a new sim each time to get the better packages. Why don't they offer that at top up?

I have the same as Ally.
Still some left, time runs out end of Dec. I think it's good value for money.
