Ducato indicator/light glitch

Hi my 1988 Ducato left indicator is fine but my right will only light front bulb (all bulbs are fine). When right indicator is selected the brake and rear lights are flashing instead?
It may be a co-incidence but the problem only showed up when I started havinga problem with my left head light.
Is there a wiring expert out there that might suggest what to check.

I would agree with pat, although definitly not an expert I usually found with cars with a bad earth caused those sorts of problems.

Trace back the black wires and see if they connect anywhere to the chassis/body to gain an earth, if they look rusty give them a wirebrushing. Even wiggling them would help :)

would you have changed any bulbs lately?
i had a problem years ago on a bluebird when i put a double element bulb in when it should have been a single result was when id press brake peddle (feckin brakes didn't work half the time either :D :D) the parking lights would come on aswell
just figured the problem when the bulb blew a short time later and when new bulb went in no more parking lights came on

hi max, im having trouble with halogen headlight bulb now that you mention it. Its a combined headlight and full beam bulb but it not lighting on headlight just full beam! might be a culprit.
Thanks

that applies to tail light or parking lights only,

id say your halogen bulb may have seen better days,

to be on the safe side id run a new earth from the battery to the chassis as on my last 89 ducat weird things started to happen one day and i called an auto electrician and he advised to run a fresh earth, (it wont do any harm) and it sorted it out for me,
hope this helps,
