Sparked by Viktors recent threads, I have a couple of coordinates for filming locations used on the Quiet Man movie. (One of my oul favourites). Yeah, its an american/Irish idealized view of ireland, but still, its a nice ol' "sunday afternoon film" if you don't mind the diddle-de-idle-doe'ness of it....

If you know the film and you're motorhoming in the area, you might be interested in having a look for yourself!

The Quiet Man Bridge, Connemara. This one is copyrighted as it may be sold as a framed print by relatives at the Kingston Gallery in Milton Keynes.

It's not locked so you can easily open it..as you hint - maybe he just gave up and left it unlocked this time.

Looks like the farmer fixed his gate.

It was all bent to hell the time I was there, I guess from all the chubby american's climbing over it to go in and see white o morn cottage.

Why he doesn't put a stile there beats me...

There were two bridges featured in the Quite Man. Blag has listed 'the' bridge. But the one where the Bishop and Rev viewed the fight from is in the grounds of Ashford castle.
