Visited 'The Apple' Campsite, Cahir Co Tipp this week.
It cost €6.50 per person and €2 for Elec. VERY reasonable, free showers, and a bottle of their own apple juice free on arrival. So only cost €15 per nite- by far the cheapest site down south??
No pub or activities within walking distance, but lovely walks on very small boreens and freedom to ramble thro the campsiters orchards snd very clean, small site.

It always gets good reports.

We have never managed to stay their as we usually have the dog with us and they aren't allowed.
We have tried their apple juice and jam. Great!

It certainly is a super site and we really enjoyed it when we stayed there 2 years ago. Just bring you're wine with you and there's no problem. Well worth foregoing the facility of a Pub close by for the site itself and its facilities.n

Stayed a couple of nights there last year on the road to Cork. Great value as I was travelling alone at 13 euro for both nights. The complimentary bottle of apple juice sells for 12 stg in my local health food shop (I wasn't in the health food shop, it's next to the kebab house). All in all was a pretty site with good facilities and unarguable the best value campsite in Ireland.

We're in the apple farm at the moment and its full,
Could squeeze another tent or two but that would be it,
Weather is mostly good,
As said before good value and I'd say the warmest welcome you would ever get,
And apple juice to die for

Stayed here for 2 nights last week, this was a favourite spot of mine 20 years ago in my caravan day and apart from the business side of the fruit the site hasn't changed.
Something else that hasn't changed much is the price of Carlsberg in the pup 2 miles down the road @ 3euro a pint its the cheapest I enjoyed on a 10 day trip down the east coast and back up the west.

I just remembered that they sell cider in the fruit shop also
As far as I know it's local stuff in 300ml bottles so you would need a crate! :-)
