Nothing Scientific about it :)

One of those very hot days I turned the blow heating on, no heating just the blowers, on full whack in the van to see what effect it had on the batteries in full sun. It had no effect, both remained fully charged, forgot it was on and only realised when closing the van door again that is was still blowing 4 hours later! both leisure batteries remained fully charged!

A great system from RDLS

Can't - mine only runs on battery when the engine is going. I doubt a solar panel would keep a fridge going anyhow, it would draw far to much power.

Forget running the fridge on battery.
It uses far too much power and will drain the batteries in hours.

Would drain a leisure battery overnight, have one here, just plugged it in.

cold mode - 45w - 65w consumption - someone that knows will be able to work out how long that would last without solar.

Battery remaining at 13.0 - 13.1 volts but no longer fully charged

I'll leave it running a while and see what happens - take into account bright sunshine today

Kept it on for nearly 2 hours.

Batteries dropped to 12.9 but stayed there constantly, as soon as I unplugged the fridge they went straight back up to 13.5 - so it seems it would work alright in good sunshine, this was with nothing else on though.

So realistically leave it plugged in during the day say 11am to 10pm then put in some frozen blocks at night to keep em chilled for a 11am start again or better still freeze a couple of cans for that night so as not to waste space.

Sounds like a plan, I ran it empty, it would be easier ran if it was full with cans, once it cools them it is easier to keep them cool.

Have a report here somewhere from MMM where they ran a compressor fridge as opposed to a condensor fridge with lighting and an hour of tv, and the solar coped admirably. Might dig it out next week after Glasgowbury.

I disagree......

You used to work for Guinness - Guinness sell Carlsberg. I have bought enough Carlsberg that they now owe me some, so if Guinness owes me and you worked for Guinness it makes sense that you now owe me also.

Seems to make sense here anyhow :D
