Irish Ferries to France - price reductions

I got a tip off that Irish Ferries had dropped their prices to France. My trip in September was down by €110. I asked if they would change me to the new fare as a flexi customer. They said no. Instead I had to cancel my booking, wait for the €200 deposit to appear as a credit, then rebook and pay a new €200 deposit. Just hope they don’t go down again but well worth the effort.

First week Feb we booked Cherbourg to Dublin Irish ferries €379 (single trip) with 4 berth cabin for June 13 with flexi fare.
Didn’t know about AXA discount and I think we have it with Dolmen Insurance.
If we didn’t get the savings as mentioned by Mark & Wendy, should we do same and cancel and start again, certainly before we pay balance.
We had considered the extra luxury of the more expensive cabin (are they worth it?), if that much discount we could have it at price paying now.
As I said in another post in 2015 we paid about same price for return fare.

I know if changing dates if fare difference is higher you pay the extra,, but you don’t get refund when if you change to a date at a cheaper fare

Axa discount is just with Stena line not Irish Ferries.

Don't know about Irish Ferries but Stena have and do give refunds back to your card if you change to a date at a cheaper fare
