Am thinking of putting air suspension on our van ,was reading the past posts on the subject but it went astray with other subjects, so any help on the pros and cons would be helpful thanks ,was looking at some on eBay ,seems around £300 is the norm for a system

I’m no expert on them but I find our one great, and it would probably one of the first things I would put on my next van, after solar panels. Get the compressor as well though. Not just the valves

This is the first van we've had it on. We've had two of these both exactly the same. The difference is incredible, handling improved a lot.

I would give air suspension five stars, I have also used it for raising the back for steep ramps like ferries but also to give more space when changing rear tyres.

Looks like I've ordered the same kit at the same time so I'll be interested in how you get on (if you get it done before me that is :) ) Mines marked as posted on Friday past so hopefully should have the kit later this week.

drive rite air system.

HI, I have a 2007 7.6 mtr Geist 710 Touring with a ALKO chassis, and I added air suspension last year. I had it fitted by Drive-rite in Dublin, and it was the making of the van. the fact it was an ALKO chassis meant it had to fitted by an expert, but what a difference it made.
Getting on and off ferries was always an ordeal and having to use mats to raise the rear, but with the suspension system it was just a matter of the touch of a button and up she went. I would definitely recommend fitting it to older vans.

Think I’ll invest in that then as driving my Luton Ducato can feel like driving a boat over 40mph on bendy backroads.

Just came across this post. I asked the bloke doing the upgrades on my new second hand camper about air suspension and he said fitting it to an ALCO chassis could cost up to 5 grand instead of 5 or 6 hundred for a non,- ALCO. Is he right or spoofing me ? :open_mouth:

Figures are high for both but yes Alko would be at least triple the price of standard

Thought so. Judging by the work he's done so far I didn't think he was simply avoiding doing the job by giving a high quote.

Unsure which van you have but looking at Baquettes link they seem to be circa £1500 before fitting

Here is a link for a company in Italy, they do kit for most vehicles, this is a breakdown of the kit for My Sprinter, you would probably want to contact them for a quote, giving your van details, Make, Model, year, Base Vehicle. and that it's an Alko,
https://www.sospensionieasytop.it/en/
BASIC KIT:
€ 319.00 specific air suspension kit for Mercedes Sprinter single wheel 318 2009
€ 62.00 expedited shipping costs to Ireland
OPTIONAL mechanics Sprinter
€ 42.00 valve kit for transforming the inflation system into semi-automatic
€ 49.00 12 v Einhell semi-professional compressor “made” in Germany
