I fancy a blow up Gazebo, I find awnings pretty much useless in this country.

This one looks big enough for a get together :)

A shelter to sit outside, instead of useless awnings in a windy country.

I've got a brand new Vango awning in the back of the van. It's a Kela V and wasn't cheap, what with the extra groundsheet, special f***ing carpet and extra tie downs. You name the accessory and we've got it. None of it has ever been out of the various bags and we're driving around Spain with it. Wifey insisted on buying it and couldn't be persuaded otherwise. I've threatened to lob the whole lot in a dumpster several times but she keeps promising to sell it.

At least we've used the cheap as chips Thule wind out awning bolted to the side of roof. Once when we got it to make sure it worked, once to show my Dad and once a couple of days ago because we hadn't used it in a while.

I'll give you a 100 quid for it when you come back, I'll even meet you at the boat to lighten your load, for the trip home.

You'll have to meet me at the Channel Tunnel on May 2nd. Sadly we won't be back in Ireland for a while, mainly because it's cold and wet and we've bought a house in Spain. Actually, that's a lie, I'll be over in July but it'll be a plane into Knock and Ryanair would charge more to carry the awning than it's worth.

Well I suppose I can't do you any favours at this time, so, as I hope to go to Italy with my G /daughters until the 27th, if we get over the Covid 🤞and I'd neve make it to the tunnel in time, plus the transport cost, would hardly make it worth while, another time, maybe, 🤔all the best with the Spanish move, not jealous or anything. 😭.

Hi Ally

Have a look at this. It’s my new Vango Hexaway. Can work/buy stand alone or attached. Very spacious IMHO

Great stuff thanks, I seen Aaron posting that review and meant to go back to it.

You've made my mind up, I want a standalone gazebo without attachment, thats too much work/climbing for me, I just wouldn't be able too.

cheers.

Some campsites may charge extra for the unattached tent or ask you to take it down. I'm thinking of Camping and Caravan Club in the UK, I'm sure there will be others.

If you get a stand alone air awning like mine, the stand alone version is also much cheaper. It come with a detachable plastic type ground sheet so I made sure I detached it when not in use during the day as much a possible to ensure the grass below was not yellowed. Not usually necessary but I was away for 6 nights with it recently.
