Knew it. Nothing good ever comes of a council quango, making thousands from a report, done by their friends, with your money.

Continent indeed, this place is backwards.

Causeway coast and glens have this week re erected several height barriers along the coast road between portstewart and portrush after the NW200.
On Monday they erected another wooden contraption at White rocks to again stop motorhomers from stopping overnight.
I must say that having looked at it closely that it looks very chainsaw friendly.😂

Motorhome owners being treated as second class citizens as usual. Sad to say that I save my money for spending on the continent these days, a better welcome, better service and better prices for better food and more generous measures....

The article says to be enjoyed by everyone, but the barriers prevent motorhomers

Yes that means everyone except Motorhomers. :(

An article should be wrote and sent to all the Motorhome magazines on the mainland that they should avoid Donegal as they will not be made welcome ,but there are other parts of Ireland which is just as beautiful and they will be welcomed

Barriers to 'cut down' mh access, a bit of a nonsense there, barriers eliminate mh access not reduce.
Too many mh visiting the area, so Donegall want less tourists, well I'm sure we can accommodate that requirement, there are plenty more places where we are encouraged to visit and leave our money

Bit like North Wales , Llandudno is an example. Tunnel for me for 6 weeks at the end of the month . Was coming over in September but a couple of cheap Haven deals now have me going to Dorset and Cornwall.

Wonder how close a relative the barrier maker is to the proposer...

France knows how to do it, getting just two people here that would support you, is an entirely different story. We are not militant enough, always a pushover, the same as GB.

We need a Camping-Car Liaison Committee type organisation here, God knows trying to one off the ground here has been a waste of time with so many failed attempts.
What's really need but unlikely to happen is that the trade, who benifit so handsomely from our patronage, to take the lead.

I am asking a good solicitor friend of mine to examine the lawfulness (or otherwise) of this type of discriminatory actions, whether we have an avenue to pursue a case in the courts. They will be writing in the first instance with a freedom of information request to DCC and a written explanation on what law these barriers are erected and if this contravenes our rights. If they deem that we have a case for such action I will be asking the motorhome community to crowd fund this action with the view to bringing this to a head. Absolutely disgraceful state of affairs that needs to be challenged.

Crowd funding..

This is another area where the Motorhome dealers in NI and ROI need to step in and donate. After all if you can't park a motorhome, why buy one?
