Paul Simpson:

Bottom line, The two Motorhome Parking Bays and the Aire machine will be REMOVED from their current position at The Commons. The area behind them, will become an Outdoor Gym Area. (the greater Donaghadee area plans show a new Motorhome/Glamping Pod/Tent area to be oved to the planned Crommelin Ecopark behind the playing fields at Moat Street Donaghadee.

This Link should be read FIRST , then Complete the relevant survey.

The FULL Donaghadee Town Centre Masterplan can be found at
https://www.ardsandnorthdown.g…plan_1.pdf

Then read the separate plans for The Commons and complete that survey.
Here is the link to the actual plans.

Thanks for the links. Looking at it from a motorhome owners point of view, I'd say we're being pretty well ignored and they've totally missed the concept of an Aire... Yes, there seems to be provision for motorhome/caravan parking at what is to be called Cromelin eco Park, but, in reality, I can't see anyone wanting to park, near football pitches, amongst a (not to pleasant) council estate at the back of the town.....
Time will tell, and, if previous council developments, it will take a loooong time before it's completed and usable.

John I would not see that as a conspiracy,rather a fact.
The losers being the Donaghadee businesses.

glad I'm not alone in the thought process, especially after the whole thing starting from an individual who took offence at the overnighting at the commons.

Since that all started I haven't been to Donaghadee since, just passed through.

Doesn't work no matter who you vote for the pocket liners still, get the job.
The greatest scan in the world, even if you don't win the election, you still get paid to do nothing, for the next 5years?

Non voters are the problem with all countries. We end up with a non representation of people. If you don't vote then don't complain about politicians, you've no right to a voice.

There my opinion on the matter ends.

Knowing we are able to access the ANDBC council website and listen to their committee meetings.,

I have just submitted this query to ArdsandNorthdownBoroughCouncil.;

Subject: recent Zoom Consultation Session on Thursday 24 February 2022 re The Commons, Donaghadee.

I am aware, from reading in motorhome groups, there was only one person who spoke against the plans, and they were only known as 'Mr Smith'.

We are able to listen to our Council Committee meetings via soundcloud.com, and it would be great if the recording for this particular zoom meeting was also available via soundcloud.com.

Their response;

Good morning Paul

I have passed this to the Regeneration Team who organised this meeting.

Kind Regards

The Admin Team

Also no one spoke verbally against Motorhomes so it won’t be on a recording it was on the chat

I was only quoting what I saw this morning on Motorhome Craic post from yesterday. at 1410
"Donaghadee before the busy body Mr Smith (fake named wannabe) messed it all up."

Also, Ally's response to the query by Jim McBride ;
"There was, and then there was again, then again, and then the Council told porkies. However, it is still ongoing and there was a zoom call the other night with only one opposer (guess who), more has developed from that, see here: forum/topic.php?p=209643...";

So, I presumed the 'Mr Smith' had taken part in the zoom meeting .

Citizen Smith was a name used by someone whom remains unknown that put in information requests to the council and was against motorhome parking and basically everyone it seems. So it's now a pseudonym for whomever is against the Motorhome Parking which as far as we know is only one person but could be two at most.

I'm going to carry on calling him/her/whatever Mr Smith. It did after all threaten us with court 😂

It seems this person /s can use whatever name they want.

The Aire in Newcastle has been put back on the app as it was still being used.

Davy has given up, the Motorhome community is sometimes its own worst enemy and they don't police themselves sometimes. Overcrowding was the order of the day at Newcastle.
