Rory Gallagher Festival 2013

Thursday 30th May to Sunday 2nd June 2013.
The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival is one of the most unique annual Music Festivals in Ireland, celebrating Ireland's best loved Rock 'n Blues Guitarist, the Late Rory Gallagher who was born in Ballyshannon. Over 12,000 people attended the 4-day event in 2012 on the June Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Festival is based primarily on Rock 'n Blues Music with Open Air Street Gigs, Nightly Big Top Concerts, Workshops, Exhibitions, Theatre Concerts and Pub sessions. Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival won the Best Festival for visitor numbers between 10,000 and 30,000 at the 2010 & 2011 Irish Festival Awards.

Did anyone attend? is it worth going to?

Deirdre,
I have been to the RGFest many times, last year for the first time in the MH. This is not to be missed if you are a fan of Rory's music, it is just the best! We stayed in the town's campsite which should be pre-booked as it fills up. They do their best to accommodate everybody though.

The festival website is www.goingtomyhometown.com. It's a long way from Clare to there, but well worth the trip. 8-)

Is there any other places to park the Motorhome? or just the campsite?

Many Thanks for your Enquiry and we are pleased to hear that you will
be attending the Rory Gallagher Festival this year. The Festival provides
a Campsite for campers however it doesn't include an area for Camper Vans.

However, there is a Campervan area at the Lakeside Centre, very close to
the Town Centre and fully serviced with excellent facilities - here are the
contact details -

LAKESIDE CARAVAN & CAMPING CENTRE
Belleek Road,

Ballyshannon,

Co. Donegal,
Tel. 0035371-9852822 (from Europe, UK & USA)
Tel. 07198-52822 (from Republic of Ireland)

Email: lakesidecentre@eircom.net

There is an area where Campervans do Park safely close to the Campsite,
however it is only a Parking Area where no charge applies. If you would like
to park at this location, just follow the sign posts on arrival towards the
Campsite and you will then see the signs for Camper Van Parking,

Hope this is helpful,

Best Regards,
Barry
