I was in that van it would comfortably take anyone up to about 7 ft tall , biggest floor to ceiling distance if seen in a van 😁

I imagine Mr Ryan's VRT increases may have something to do with it.

Crazy price they definitely are but just cast your mind back to 2007 and 2008 when things were going the same way and look what happened then.
Peoples income is not rising at anything like these price hikes, so it will get to the point that you cannot buy what you cannot afford. Then we will see what happens.

The price of the van I bought this year has gone up by 8000 euro and the only difference is new graphics. The UK version is now £20K more than what I paid.

Absolutely bonkers

One other thing I've heard is that vans and trucks are proving hard to get. It seems that the large courier companies have ordered loads of vans and coupled with the chip shortage means high demand and low supply. I've heard of a 12 month lead time for trucks. Sure I ordered a VAG car in July and I may have it in Jan/Feb.

I heard of one local main dealer getting a delivery of half a dozen new commercial vans (for builders, etc). None could be sold as they were missing radios etc due to chip shortages. The manufacturer ran out of storage room so had to push them out to dealers.

Lol I'm not complaining since September of last year my camper has gone up by 17500 euro new so if it going up more I'm doing very well 👍

No doubt that is a fact, every increase in the new vehicle is an increase in the older vehicle.

Amazon have bought them all. We got three boxer vans this week from an order of 18 which was back at the beginning of march. We have also ordered a new artic unit and it has a twelve month wait.

Is the current worldwide supply chain difficulties the beginning of the end of the throwaway consumerism which has developed over the past 50 years.
Is that train about to run over a cliff to be replaced by a return to the old repair and make do environment which has been abandoned.
It would be far better for the planet and cost a lot less that the current practice of chuck it and get a new one when something needs fixing.

Would love to see this happen but alot of items are made so they can't be repaired or the cost of parts is prohibitive, great feeling of satisfaction when you repair something

That's changing, although it'll take some years.

UK law passed manufacturers of white goods must provide parts for ten years.

Apple now selling parts to fix phones in the US but it will go worldwide.

Computers being designed in blocks that you unplug and add on a new one.

Yeah, but the parts can cost about 70% of the new price 🤬
