I've been watching the adverts for Lanogaurd for a while and I'd just got the 4x4 chassis shot blasted and was about to use my trusty waxoyl when someone who had used Lanogaurd a year ago recommended it.

After looking further into it decided to give it a go. Wow! They are correct, 15 minutes and the 4x4 was finished!

This product is soo easily applied there is no need for a professional unless you need a lift or a pit for access.

Have a look yourself and see who is already using it.

I must admit that i have never heard tell of Lanoguard before now, but it seems much easier applied than the old tried and trusted Waxoil which i have used for a very long time.
Will give this a bit of research before next time.

Reading through it and it sounds good except you have to do it yearly, I thought you do these once and forget about them

All of them need inspected yearly. Cavity sealing is OK for years and years. But anywhere that receives abuse needs checked yearly.

Boys bought me lanoguard for Christmas last year and I did the chassis and suspension of the Defender. It still looks to have a good layer on a year later, except for the areas that have been scuffed off roading. Hoping to get another bottle this year, if I’m good. 😇 There was also a tub of a thick grease like substance for treating the brake unions, nuts, bolts, etc. all in all it was much easier to use than waxoyl.

Yeah it's waxy although totally non toxic and made of different stuff. But don't see why not.

Of course. But you'll have to scrape it all off and put it back in the can, the way you bought it. Also provide the original purchase receipt and photographs of the work being done.

You MUST provide all of this in the presence of both sets of Grandparents.

Did you not read the small print?

P. S. Nothing wrong with waxoyl, but this is so much easier applied. Twice the price mind you.

Any idea what it would cost to Lanoguard a van vs a Waxoyl?

Twice the price, quarter of the time and a lot easier.

That’s for the product, I meant getting it done professionally. Although I’d have a go myself if I had a pit. I don’t suppose I could rent a pit by the hour, 🤔

You could certainly use mine and I'd offer advice also, FOC as a MHCC member upon signing a waiver, you fall or hurt yourself you dissappear, over a beer.

If you have two car ramps and don't mind rolling about on the ground it could be done, one end at a time. It really is so easily applied.

Not the best option but certainly doable.

No idea really what someone would charge for Lanogaurd professionally applied.

£175-£350 I suppose, I'm sure I'd do a van for £175 that needed no remedial work.

So how many liters would do a 6 meter van? I see it comes in 2L and 5L.

Send me a photo of underneath.

You need to look at how much is already done by manufacturer, no point putting lanoguard over rubber type sealer. I'd say the wee one would probably do, it done my Isuzu trooper with some left, but have a look and send me a pic.

They are discussing discussing how the product needs to be heated slightly before use, on their FB group. Someone said they put it in their airing cupboard!
First of all I was surprised people still had airing cupboards, secondly I am surprised that people still have hot water cylinders that allow heat to escape!!
Ours is Copper with glass inside like a thermos flask and a metal insulated surround, it is never hot or even luke warm to the touch.

Is it just me? :)

I do know that, built plenty of them 😜

However it is always a good idea to upgrade your boiler every ten to 15 years. This should involve a new system, most people these days go for a combo boiler which means no cylinder. Or if they do have a cylinder it's one of the newer type which doesn't allow heat to escape therefore rendering a airing cupboard defunct.

This was one I never could understand, having a Hugh copper cylinder in a press, and they used to offer those stupid red strip jackets to keep the heat in ,worse than useless, I fitted the cylinders in the attic fully insulated, and in the airing press, with towels, bedding etc, there is a small radiator, which allows for a lot more storage,
