Evening all, I'm new here so dipping my toe now...anybody got info re' dehumidifiers? A mate suggested a MEACO which heats also but I'm thinking seasoned as y'all are here I said I'd enquire. There must be something on Youtube so I'll put myself to sleep tonight with an ''expert'' droning on there....ZZZZZ 'nite now! Con

I have a meco … I usually let it run in the van for about 12 hours before we head off. It takes a lot of moisture out for sure and also warms the van up. Have had it for a couple of years now and no trouble, fingers crossed

I have one and for a while I ran it and was shocked at the amount of water it collected, however when I was informed as to why I stopped using it, the water is coming from the air its drawing in through the various vents. In other words I was trying to dry up the air in Ireland over winter.

Yep. All vents need sealing and the air needs to be recycled inside the van.

Use one for drying out vans before and during damp repairs.

I heard that if you run a heater in conjunction with it, it works better as the heater creates moisture when the water evaporates, Or I may be talking out of my ****

Warm air can hold more moisture than cold air. If your goal is to get dampness from the structure and the fixtures and fittings, into the air and then removed from the air by the dehumidifier, then warming the air should speed up the process.
