I could recommend the "Milenco 900" - it was getting reception where neighbouring vans weren't

They’re pretty big though aren’t they? If they are the same ones I see on many caravans .

I started to read that thread. I had to laugh when I saw the second post “Only thing I would worry about is snapping it off on low branches etc. ” 😂

I will read the rest of that thread for sure tomorrow.

It looks quite smart on yours JettaJohn. You can pull it off with an A-Class for sure. On a converted van it might look like a police radar.

Well the new antenna is stuck on. I said while I’m at , and starting a new tube of sikaflex, I’ll get a job done I’ve been meaning to do for ages. I want to extend my awning ail by about a foot or so. I made it too short to begin with and was never quite right for the canopy. It was as cheap for me to buy a full length rail from Charles camping as to get a small length on eBay.

So the plan was to cut a length of the new rail and extend the existing one. Easy job. But, despite being c-rails, they are different. To make the new section line up for easy gliding would mean a bit of fiddling. They’ll probably look different too even if I am the only one to notice. So do I take down the old rail altogether and start afresh. .? Well the answer should be yes but then I have a strip of Sikaflex to remove and clean off. Now it becomes a bigger job.

Any tips on removing Sikaflex?

I think it was Blag that said in the past he used plumbers freeze to remove body sealer. I have no idea if that would work or how clean it would remove it, if you use something like a timber chisel it is very hard to avoid damaging the paint, Jason

I might rethink this job altogether Pat. It's messy stuff for sure and surprisingly little online about removing throughly.

Why not contact Sikaflex directly and ask them what they would recommend ?

Get the old engine back and dismantle it yourself see what happened to it if it’s not to much to repair do it and sell it on

if I had the storage space I'd request it back.

This what my shed looks like.

Yep that's a road to keep away from. Nearly 40 years later I'm still reminded about the time I reversed the Trials car in trough the French windows to an unfinished sitting room, to repair the front end.
"It was the winter" and cold and wet. 🤔😩😔

That reminds me of being frequently reminded of the 1970's when I did a bit of rallying and used to rebuild (frequently) my Imp engine and gearbox in our unfurnished front room which had nails in the wall for hanging gasgets and other bits 😁

The little bit of noise from the angle grinder, and straigh pipe VX exhaust may just, have been some of the problems, fair play to my neighbours, it only took him 20 year's to mention it. 😁

SWMBO was not too impressed with me as I was blow torching strip wood under the kitchen extractor fan all morning.

I just discovered the 'Shou Sugi Ban' wood treatment method. It couldn't be helped.  🙄
