Well the new antenna is stuck on. I said while I’m at , and starting a new tube of sikaflex, I’ll get a job done I’ve been meaning to do for ages. I want to extend my awning ail by about a foot or so. I made it too short to begin with and was never quite right for the canopy. It was as cheap for me to buy a full length rail from Charles camping as to get a small length on eBay.
So the plan was to cut a length of the new rail and extend the existing one. Easy job. But, despite being c-rails, they are different. To make the new section line up for easy gliding would mean a bit of fiddling. They’ll probably look different too even if I am the only one to notice. So do I take down the old rail altogether and start afresh. .? Well the answer should be yes but then I have a strip of Sikaflex to remove and clean off. Now it becomes a bigger job.
Any tips on removing Sikaflex?

I think it was Blag that said in the past he used plumbers freeze to remove body sealer. I have no idea if that would work or how clean it would remove it, if you use something like a timber chisel it is very hard to avoid damaging the paint, Jason

I might rethink this job altogether Pat. It's messy stuff for sure and surprisingly little online about removing throughly.

I wouldnt risk the kitchen table. I'm still smarting from the time she came home and I had a disassembled MGB GT carb spread over it along with the associated cleaners

Yep that's a road to keep away from. Nearly 40 years later I'm still reminded about the time I reversed the Trials car in trough the French windows to an unfinished sitting room, to repair the front end.

That reminds me of being frequently reminded of the 1970's when I did a bit of rallying and used to rebuild (frequently) my Imp engine and gearbox in our unfurnished front room which had nails in the wall for hanging gasgets and other bits

I suppose if we are honest most of us can be accused of such behaviour, just don’t mention it

If I did that,it wouldn't be gaskets hanging on the nails

The little bit of noise from the angle grinder, and straigh pipe VX exhaust may just, have been some of the problems, fair play to my neighbours, it only took him 20 year's to mention it.
