I’m not that optimistic for here down South, Norman. Talks of level 5 until Easter. I’d make plans for staying in NI if I were you.

I’m sort of concentrating on escaping Ireland towards Sept/Oct, can’t see much happening in the Republic before June/July at the earliest based on the the speed they’re administrating the vaccine. The north will up and running a good bit quicker as the vaccination programme is at a much more advanced stage there.

Spain on a plane if I can get in

Don't try fly out of ROI, €2000 fine, don't think you'll be too welcome in Spain either, 2 weeks quarantine possibly

I'm pretty sure it will be Sept / Oct...... If we re-open in Summer, I think it will be too packed out there

Might have to use a boat then lol

The date will all depend on Spain and when they are letting people in, self isolation for two weeks no bother as long as I can do it at my own remote house!!!

Hopefully sitting in my garden without getting drenched or frozen to death... that'll be nice.

I would say I will be in the garden for Easter, wish it was otherwise but looks like we are going nowhere until June. It will be a long wait....

A short drive from the MH parking spot in garden to front gate will probably be my most adventurous Easter trip (approx 20m :) )

Will probably stay in the van at Easter in the garden just to get everything running for a hopeful escape from captivity in June or maybe May 🤞

My UK-based 39 year old son-in-law, with no underlying health issues, is booked for his jab this weekend. Apparently it's going very well there, plenty of vaccines, as they were free to negotiate their own vaccine purchases. Maybe Brexit wasn't such a stupid move after all?

In a few months there will be plenty of vaccines for everyone. I wouldn’t be trading all the long term upheaval of Brexit for that. Also, all this one dosing of people while stretching out the interval for second dose, could lead to mutations that might be more resistant to vaccine. Hopefully not for everyone’s sake everywhere.

Yes, UK/NI much more advanced with vaccine rollout than we are here. They’re over the half million administrators a day now and accelerating.
We may be in a better position up here as we will be able to escape sooner than ROI and avail of Northern Ireland opening up quicker when it eventually does.
But normality is some time away and no one is safe until this damn thing is under control properly.

We’ll all be crossing the border when their pubs open first.

Well I am fairly sure that Somerset will look like the M25 traffic jam at rush hour come Easter if ban lifted so guessing my wheels car or camper will not be moving much as the stupid sods all seem to have a great idea that no one else will have thought off and come off the M5 head through the villages and like a few others Yatton is usually a total logjam for most of Easter.
Luv it

There's a place name I haven't seen for a long while....since I swapped Frome for Ireland in 1993!

We did think long and hard about moving over the water but other things seemed more important when I retired
