Asking for a friend who has a 2005 Rapido with truama heating system. He's only recently got it but cant go anywhere because his water tanks keep dumping when temperatures fall outside. .... How does he sort that issue?.....I had same heating system in my last van and never had those issues in winter🤔

When the temperature drops below (3°) there is a dump valve which springs open to release the water to stop it expanding when frozen and wrecking the boiler. AFAIK its usually blue coloured and just needs to be pressed in once located. It's obviously close to and below the boiler.

Sounds like the valve is dumping too early (probobly around 6c like my is)

Simple solution is it will not dump when the heating is turned on, even on its lowest setting,

Either replace the valve or do a Mac Gyver on the existing one but he has to remember to manually dump the water on a frosty night if the van is not occupied and the heating is off,

My Rapido is of the same year. The dump valve won't operate when the heating is on no matter how low the temperature goes. When I'm out on cold nights I leave the heating on all night, usually turned down to 2 or 3.
Another trick is to put a clothes peg on the valve (the plunger bit to stop it from dropping down) but remember that will stop the dumping and could result in damage to the boiler if there's a seriously frosty night.
