Hybrid would be the way to go I wonder would it be possible to link solar panels on to charge the batts

You’re right Pat.

The elephant in the room that no government nor loony greens want to discuss or address is the supply, even in the medium term of lithium/cobalt/manganese and other metals and the amount of energy required to mine those, to process those and the amount of waste generated doing so. Couple that to the recycling of them, particularly lithium which is extremely difficult to recycle safely and the by products created in the process. Most of the metals are mined in developing/3rd world countries that the rest of the world care nothing about. Oh, and China controls about 60% (and growing, it’s just bought up the rights to most of west Africa mines) of the worlds lithium resources, 100% of the graphite and 75% of the cobalt.

Guess who is going to be calling the shots in a few years? .... and we’re walking blindly into it...
