Hi Guys
Bought Motor home recently in Germany and brought back to Ireland
can anyone advise how I can get Irish and English TV Channels on my satellite
dish. The Satellite dish is Alden and it will search for channels but nothing coming up.
or do I have to get new TV's for Motor home .

It's probably set up for the wrong satellite, it has to tune into Astra 28 it may also need update from the Alden website

Irish FTA channels via SAORSAT are on EUTELSAT but most TV's sold over the last 10 years or so have an MPEG-4 tuner and should be able to get the same channels with an aerial on SAORVIEW.

With UK channels on Astra 28 and Irish channels on Eutelsat 9A, it makes sense to tune in Irish channels on Saorview and keep the satellite dish pointed at Astra. That way you are not swinging the dish back and forth for Ireland or UK TV. Any decent UHF aerial should be fine for Saorview.

There's quite few places with no signal on Saorview

That is true also. In which case, if you have the option to pick up Saorsat, fair enough.

Personally, I like to head off with movies on a memory stick. So even if I can't get TV there is something to watch.
