I’m heading north on Monday a quick Road Trip and was going to break the journey at Portumna but I’ve a long way to go the following day and thought I could go further on day 1, less to drive on day 2. Is Lough Ennell campsite open?
Any one been recently?

Right on the lake, well established site with lots of statics but the casual visitor is well catered for with good sized hard stands all with ehu and water tap, we were two vans travelling together and were accomadated on the same emplacement with plenty of room. Facilities were restricted due to Covid 19 but this did not encroach on the enjoyment of our stay. Nearby is Belvedere House & Gardens with loads of walks and also the Royal Canal Blueway and the Old Rail Trail Greenway are within reach E30 Inc ehu for two.

Stayed for one night (July2020)as a stop over. We were met by a lovely man very Friendly he showed us to our pitch. Level site hard standing pitch. The toilet and showers were closed due to Covid 19. But we were okay we had MH. Water available with EHU. Had a great night sleep it was so quite on site. I would recommend. €32. 2a2c.

If you use the motorway up instead , Portlaoise or Monasterevin services but that depends where in the North you're going

Heading to a long straight road it less than 8 miles long but more than 6.

The motorway is definitely the quickest way there , watch he doesn't sell your van while you're there ,it's a hobby of his selling Vans

Trying to convert him as i have a mondeo that I don’t use and I’m not going over to GB for the foreseeable.
