Recommendations for a garage to fix Fiat based Hymer

Hi Folks!

Yesterday my Hymer failed CVRT. Few small enough things (rubber boots, things like that) and ABS light was on.

Did the CVRT at Kavanagh's near Drogheda and I heard they would be able to fix things they find. The man who did the actual check said it would be no problem to fix, except for the ABS light, because they wouldn't be comfortable to do it.
Fair enough. Rung the office and they said "Sure, we'll call you back with the estimate for the work."

Today got the call "Sorry, we can't do it". Even though I said I'd find some place to look at ABS, just get the rest of the things fixed for me, please. No joy. "Sorry! No, we can't sort it out for you" and that's it.

Now I need to find a place to fix it. It's Fiat Ducato based model.

Would anyone have a recommendation for a garage not too far away from Drogheda that would be able to help me, please? Thanks!

I used Reynolds in Drogheda for my Ducato service and found them sound and reasonable .

Cheers, Thornwood! They were first on my list for the ABS light problem. Waiting for them to come back and see if they take me for the service.

Looks like I'm into whole pile of trouble with the ABS. Reynold's guys can't interface with the ABS as it's too old. I'd need some outfit that would still be able to connect to '98 unit. Looks like the connection has changed.

try contacting Renault Ireland and ask fir details of garages, who have been service agents since before 98. and they may have a mechanic who hasn't retired yet. and maybe explain since it is a Renault ultimately they should solve your problem.

Thanks for the idea! But that would be Fiat, sprinter ;-) not Renault.

I got it all sorted and passed CVRT. In the end the Man who sorted out ABS for me was Declan from Lynch Motors in Drogheda (https://goo.gl/maps/agomQ7HXueJDxGRG8), in case anyone needs electrical guru :-)

Sorry to jump on this thread but I can't post a new thread as I am a relative newbie so it won't allow me. My Mobilvetta (Iveco engine) has decided to screw me over in the mouth of Christmas! The key won't come out of the ignition and it won't turn on. Had to get a push start just to get home for Christmas eve. We are living in it at the minute as we just sold our house. Does anyone know a mechanic or auto electrician in the Derry/Donegal area that is open any time over Christmas? Thanks in advance for any tips.
Here is hoping for a Christmas miracle!!🤞
